Recent Update

It has been an amazing Summer and although I am sad to see it go it seems like Fall is shaping up to be great as well.  The Musician Coaching Website after only a year in existence just crossed the 100,000 page views mark this past month.  I have also begun aligning myself with other music companies an am now offering more services for artists including marketing plans and product management.  As for RGC, I continue to work with great tech companies who have content needs.

It was a pleasant realization this weekend that I know I like my job because my idea of a vacation is just a normal work day albeit a little bit slower and of course done from the beach via mobile wi-fi.

ASCAP Cracks down

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

According to a recent article in The NY Times – The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers is making an example out of 21 bars, nightclubs and restaurants by filing copyright suits against each establishment.  While I agree that these organizations need to run a tight ship and get artists paid this seems oddly RIAA like for the performing rights organization.

I was unaware prior to reading the article that it is in fact a federal offense to perform copyrighted music without permission.  I am all in favor of getting the artist paid but it really seems more like a misdemeanor and a heavy fine kind of violation to me.
